It really says it all: it was an accident - and if one has thousands of close interactions with predatory Sharks, those things will just happen. Just ask any reputable Shark researcher! :)

I join you wishing Jim all the best! From what we heard this was indeed a minor incident, probably not even a "real" bite, rather a superficial scratch which given the sharp teeth usually requires a few stitches. Too bad, but not surprisingly, this little accident made some news. Had a dog bitten Jim badly, even mauled him seriously, it would have gone unnoticed.
Get well soon Jim... the sharks need you to protect them.
