The Trailer!

Which automatically answers the question about Manchester vs Fiji Time - in Fiji Time terms, one week is lightning fast and I already very much look look forward to witnessing David's tribulations in trying to get anything done at that pace once he hits our shores! :)

Now, we obviously want to see the whole enchilada, namely
Filmed on location in Mallorca, "Behind Blue Glass" tells the story of Mallorca's history and tradition with the Great White Shark and in which, seven unwitting volunteers come face to face with sharks and in doing so, send out a powerful message in favour of the conservation of these awe inspiring animals.
Did I read Not long to wait now ;) ? Meaning... ?

Still the Best!
When I first watched this video, I was moved to tears.
Since that time many years ago, there has been a veritable deluge of productions highlighting the magical underwater life of Cocos and the plight of Sharks - and yet, this remains the unequaled masterpiece.
Avi is one of the owners of the Undersea Hunter franchise and he has spent countless hours with his venerable Draeger waiting for the perfect moment - and it shows, as does the loving and meticulous editing by Nicola Ghersinich. These are the earlier days of the legendary Mario Arroyo, when we were only killing 15 million Sharks and when the schools of Hammerheads were already depleted but still incredibly impressive.
Much of it gone now, likely forever.
Be amazed and deeply moved.

World champion Tanya Streeter with Caribbean Reefs.Same location, completely different vibe and message!
Yes once again this is Tiger Beach, the scene of unspeakable stupidities performed by martial artists and wannabee Shark wranglers. But this time, it's not some cheap and self serving media stunt, this time it's a piece by the good people from the BBC - who do not use the Dolphin Dream but, I believe, Jimmy's Shear Water.
This is as pro-Shark as it gets. Kudos to everybody involved!

Shark Divers and RTSea Productions - spawning excellent pro-Shark media

This is what Sharks need.
Shark Divers and RTSea Productions have helped the good people of Wildcoast/Costasalvaje produce a brilliant piece about Isla Guadalupe, one, if not the world's most iconic Great White dive site. This is but the latest in a long lineup of pro-Shark media spawned by this successful cooperative venture.
I've found (yes I speak Spanish) the mini-series highly informative and entertaining whilst clearly promoting a pro-Shark, pro-Industry, pro-research and conservation oriented message - as it should be.
Big Kudos and Thank You to everybody involved - and may many more such excellent productions follow!

Sneak Preview!
Yes we do this, too!The following is a world premiere.
As you know, Fiji has made it's own local contribution to the International Year of the Shark, the Fiji Shark Conservation and Awareness Project.
The supporters are the who's who of Fiji diving and conservation and we try to continuously add new content by rolling out new initiatives, like Stuart's impressive list of Fiji-based Shark Free Marinas.
Our latest project is Fiji's first ever pro-Shark clip which is due to be aired on Fiji TV and MaiTV starting next week (yes I will post the exact days and times!).
We've tried to give it a distinct local twist by keeping part of the narration in Fijian. Rusiate is of course our famous and unsurpassed Rusi who hails from nearby Beqa Island, the very home of Dakuwaqa himself!
We hope you like it - we certainly do!
Our thanks go to the Shark Foundation and to PADI Project AWARE who generously provided the funds for the shoot and the airing. Imraz of Niuwavemedia did an excellent job of directing, shooting and editing - in record time and strictly within a massively discounted budget. Thank you guys!

Well done Bill!
Remember Bill Fisher?
He was with us in 2006 and wrote a glowing report of his experience in Shark Diver Magazine, garnished with great pictures by Terry Goss.
Bill and Joe Romeiro have teamed up to form 333 Productions and judging from their page on YouTube, they've literally been "everywhere".
I was really excited to find this 2006 video featuring not only a feisty (and much smaller) Scarface (the one with the crooked mouth), but also our biggest Lemon Whitetail. See the black dot on her nose? That's typical for Sicklefin Lemons - check out yer pics from Tiger Beach!
And there's also footage of Adi, or Princess, one of our smaller Tigers, filmed on Aqua Trek's dive (we don't grab).
Very cool!

But the real reason for this post is that 333 Productions have just won the Emerging Underwater Filmmaker category in this year's BLUE Ocean Film Festival!
Here's the trailer of their winning submission Death of a Deity.
Well done guys, and keep up the good, pro-Shark work!
