Alisi - making Fiji proud!

Bravo Alisi!
Alisi Rabukawaqa is Fiji's reigning beauty queen and next week, she will contest the Miss South Pacific Pageant in Samoa.
Alsis's mother hails from Caukadrove where the islanders are related to the Shark God Dakuwaqa, and she has decided to honor her traditional covenant with the Sharks by championing Shark conservation at the pageant.

“Sharks have a critical role to play in keeping the marine ecosystem in balance.
As Pacific island people who rely heavily on our marine resources we must be in the forefront of protecting these resources and support initiatives that drive governmental policy changes to save sharks from extinction and at the same time protect the future health of our seas.”

Very well said, you are making Fiji proud!

Alisi - Miss South Pacific!

Alisi has won the pageant!
That's a great achievement both for Fiji and for the cause of protecting the Sharks in the SoPac!

Alisi did also win the best pre-pageant interview, based on her platform of the preservation of sharks.

Congratulations!

South Pacific Projects - impressive!

Source.

Remember Alisi?

I just found her again right here.
Great to see that her advocacy for Sharks was not just a fad but that it is continuing even after the spotlight has moved on.
Kudos & Vinaka Vaka Levu!

The link alerts me to the SPP and I must say, I am impressed.
This is good local conversation, done smartly, consensually and inclusively and above all, quietly - just the way I like it and also, just the way it works! I invite you to explore that website as it is an excellent template for how things need to be done in Fiji, if not the SoPac in general.
And I also do like this!

Kudos!

Shark Central!

Behold - page 12ff!

Very nice indeed!
Always nice when a local comes diving and appreciates what Fiji has got to offer.
Vinaka Alisi.

Enjoy.
And Adopt Your Shark Now - timing is simply ideal!
Thank You!
