The Stick

This is the first time I sign a petition, ever.

Quite frankly, I've been caught completely unawares and only found out about it when browsing Underwater Thrills during my morning coffee, as I do every day. I'm kinda between homes and countries so I'll have to keep this short.

This is important, but it is only one part of the equation - the other part being that as an Industry, we got to provide for alternatives by working with serious producers and cinematographers in order to come up with better programs.

And we the operators need to finally shoulder our responsibility and stop shooting ourselves in the foot, by agreeing that the Deadly Waters fiasco must be the last time where this kind of despicable rubbish has been allowed to happen on our watch. We are the stewards of our sites and without our consent and logistical support, nothing goes - and yes, I'm repeating myself!
Always remember - our customers have a choice and there are always alternatives!

So, let's start with the stick - but let's also work on the carrot!
Please sign the petition and tell your friends.

Good on 'ya Patric!

Really, "Everybody" should sign this time.

It's a great way to show that despite of all the infighting, we can all close ranks when it is important - and let there be no doubt that this is!

Plus, a good turnout will help enormously when negotiating with the Authorities. They, too, can play an important role in this process.

As to Discovery, who knows.
But hope springs eternal...

Thanks for supporting our cause guys.

Yes, this is only a start and we have loads of work to do on every level and in every corner of the globe.

It is time when we all do our best, no matter who we are. Every single signature is important and if Shark experts like Ron & Val took some of their busy time off to sign for this cause, than we are sure that what we are doing is right.

Remember that without our sharks the oceans are dead, and the image that Discovery is giving to Sharks, makes them out to be monsters and feared by those that do not know any better.

Save our Sharks to Save our Seas.

Kudos to you and your friends for having started this Sharkman!

We're all in this together!

Great turnout but not quite enough - this thing needs to go viral, so let's work on it!

Thanks Guys.
Here are two links that you can add that tell the whole Discovery mission from the begining.

The first is the original letter we had written to DC back in 2007 and the details of the meeting we had with them.

The second site belongs to ILA FRANCE PORCHER. There are no words that I can use to acurately describe Ila. Without her, none of this would have been possible. After having had a personal bad experiance with Discovery Channel, Ila became a true inspiration and together we have set up "The Shark Group", "The Let Sharks Live" network and the "Year Of The Shark 2009". She is also the brains behind the letter writing to Descovery Channel.
